Beachport located 385kms south east of Adelaide. Beachport was settled
in the 1830's as a whaling station and by 1845 had become a trading
port for merchants in Adelaide. Today Beachport is an important and
safe harbour for the local crayfish boats and trawlers.

Beachport has the second longest jetty in South Australia (772
metres).
Enjoy Beachport with its sandy beaches, offering fishing, surf,
safe swimming and spectacular coastline. Lake George offers water
sports and many wading birds frequent the area.

From the Unit's it's only a short walk to the Pool of Siloam (Salt
Lake) which is as natural swimming lake fed by underground springs.
The lake has a reputation for its powerful therapeutic benefits. It
is ideal place for families to relax on the grassed bank.

Visit the Old Wool and Grain Store dating from 1879 and built
of local freestone and limestone and now a National Trust Museum.
Beachport Conservation Park ranges from sandy beaches to rugged
limestone cliffs. The park is noted as an important bird habitat
and for its Aboriginal shell middens. Enjoy 4WD drives, bushwalking
viewing the park's unspoiled beauty.
